Diani is a large beach resort on the Indian Ocean coast of Kenya (East Africa). 

It is located 30 kilometers south of Mombasa in nearby Kwale County. 

The beach is about 10 kilometers long and stretches from the Congo River in the north to Galu Beach in the south (the southern reference point is an ancient baobab tree). 

It borders the town of Ukunda, which has a population of almost 100,000. 

There is a small airstrip between the beach area and the Mombasa-Lunga Lunga road. 

The water remains shallow near shore, with some underwater sandbars near the surface that allow a clear view of the sandy bottom when wading. 

Inland from the beach there is extensive vegetation, including numerous palm trees that cover the coastal areas, in contrast to the dry acacia trees of the mountainous Kenyan highlands. The Mwachema River flows into the sea at Diani Beach
